{FIRST THINGS FIRST} PLAY KANYE WEST'S ALL OF THE LIGHTS WITH THIS. IT FEELS BETTER...

She blinked slowly as the red & white lights flashed on the ambulance. It felt like everything was moving slow & fast at the same time. Every sound was background noise to her. She couldn’t really make out what any 1 person was saying. Kanye’s “All Of The Lights” interlude played in her mind as they moved her out of the house on the stretcher. She could see her mother rushing toward her. She kissed her head before walking to her suburban. SB was running to his rental with Macaiah. The white lights blinded her as the put her inside the ambulance. Two paramedics climbed in then drake. She smiled when he reached for her hand but it faded as they moved him out of the way. Blood pressure, temperature, pulse, pupil dilation test. The male medic was talking to her but she couldn’t quite make out what he was saying. Her head was swimming. Then, in an instant, as if someone turned the volume all the way up, it was almost like he was screaming at her.

“Ma’am can you hear me?” he asked.

“What?” she said sounding confused.

“Are you experiencing any pain?”

“No, not right now.”

“Ma’am can you tell me your name?”

“It’s Nicki.”

“Nicki if you experience any discomfort I need you to let me know ok?” she shook her head. Suddenly, pain shot through her like lightening. She reached for her belly as she cried in pain. She could feel drake’s warm hand on her leg.

“where are you feeling the pain?” the female medic asked. She placed her hand on her lower abdomen.

“on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the worst pain you’ve ever felt, how would you rate that pain?”

“ahhhhhmmmmmm, 5 maybe?” she told her.

“Blood pressure’s high, heart rate is extremely elevated.” The medic said to her partner. “Nicki were almost there honey okay?” I just need you to hang on a little bit longer ok? Who’s your doctor?”

“Dolkart.” She breathed.

“We’ll have the hospital page his office right now for you. It’s gonna be ok.” She continued to call out codes to the driver until they made it to the hospital. They pulled her out & rush to the elevator, up to the third floor, into a new delivery suite. They lifted her from the stretcher to the bed before they left. Drake pulled a chair over to sit close to her. She reached for his had & he gave it to her. He kissed her knuckles. After she changed into the gown that they had given her they sat there, saying nothing as they looked at eachother.
